Dayton could start by taking all the empty lots where they have demolished abandoned houses and make community gardens. Something to overcome: People would actually have to work to make it happen - gardens don't weed or harvest themselves.
There's a community garden set up on Patterson just on the other side of Dot's Market that is put in every year
I'm reading a book right now that makes the point that most of the land in the United States right now that is not built on is being mowed.Imagine what would happen if even a fraction of that land was turned toward sustainable agriculture production.
